The Volunteer Escort Service provides transportation to older adults and adults with disabilities in our community that are unable to use Care-A-Van or commercial transportation services.  Volunteer drivers use their own cars and donate their time to provide this needed service to others in the community.

Arrangement for a ride to medical appointments, shopping and personal business can usually be arranged with a 48 hours notice.  The vehicles used are not equipped with lifts for wheelchairs.  The use of canes, crutches and walkers are accepted.  If a person can be transferred into the car and a folding wheelchair placed in the trunk, an attendant must accompany the rider to assist with transfers.

There is a fee for the service which helps cover mileage compensation to the drivers.  

$7.00           Round trip less than 20 miles

$4.00           One way trip under 10 miles

$15.00         Round trip over 20 miles

$8.00           One way trip over 10 miles

$35.00         Round trip to Milwaukee

As a person's circle of friends and family are reduced over time, maintaining one's independence becomes more and more difficult.  Without the aid and kindness of volunteers, remaining in their homes would be impossible for some seniors.  If you are interested in volunteering or need a ride please contact:
