Dennis and Joan Slatkay sip on soups Wednesday at the annual "Bowls and Books" fund-raiser to benefit Meals on Wheels and the Lakeside Players.  It was held at the Rhode Center for the Arts.  Fourteen local restaurants had soup to sample at the event, which drew more than 500 people.
