Rotary awards grants totaling $42,000
The Kenosha Rotary Club and Foundation is awarding $42,000 in grants to nine community groups. The money was raised through the annual WLIP Rotary Radio Auction and the Rotary’s annual golf outing. Organizations, amounts received and plans for the funds:
CP Respite — $14,400 for respite care
Kemper Center — $10,000 for windows
Meals on Wheels — $7,121 for frozen meals
UW-Parkside International House — $2,888 for rooms/beds
Neighborhood Watch — $2,855 for equipment
Community Health Center — $1,424 for a defibrillator
Women and Children’s Horizons — $1,756 for a security camera
Hawthorn Hollow — $795 for a trailer Visiting Nurse Association Community Care — $760 for an oximeter.
In addition, a $3,048 scholarship to the Father Marti Colom School in the Dominican Republic was also approved by the board of directors. |
