KAFASI, Kenosha Area Family and Aging Services, Inc. offers a variety of programs supporting persons experiencing early memory loss as well as their caregivers. From adult day services offering respite to caregivers to structured courses targeted at promoting brain health and socialization, our agency strives to offer supportive programming to those who wish to learn about, or are affected by memory issues.
Memory Masters: Designed for those interested in retaining memory function. This class focuses on exercising the brain in a positive, supportive environment where participants learn, share, and engage with one another. Classes consist of a structured curriculum that includes critical thinking, creative activities, physical exercise, while connecting with others in a fun and nurturing environment.
Daybreak: An adult day program designed to provide respite to caregivers, while providing cognitive, physical and social stimulation to participants. Daybreak sites are open Monday - Friday, 9:30 am - 3:30 pm.
Dementia Live - A Dementia Awareness Experience: This educational and sensory experience is ideal for caregivers and others who work with people who have Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia. The Dementia Live Experience is a scientifically proven method of training designed to build sensitivity and awareness in individuals caring for those with dementia by combining scholarly resources with a simulation tool kit that enables caregivers to experience for themselves the physical and mental challenges facing those with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. Caregiver Support Groups: KAFASI offers two groups for caregivers who would like to participate in sharing ideas and experiences with fellow caregivers while providing emotional support to one another.
When: The 2nd Tuesday or every month at 7:00pm.
