Memory Programs

KAFASI, Kenosha Area Family and Aging Services, Inc. offers a variety of programs supporting persons experiencing early memory loss as well as their caregivers. Our agency strives to offer supportive programming to those who wish to learn about, or are affected by memory issues.

Memory Masters: Designed for those interested in retaining memory function.  This class focuses on exercising the brain in a positive, supportive environment where participants learn, share, and engage with one another.  Classes consist of a structured curriculum that includes critical thinking, creative activities, physical exercise, while connecting with others in a fun and nurturing environment.

Music & Memory: KAFASI is a Music & Memory Certified Care organization, offering the powerful benefits of personalized music playlists. Music can reduce anxiety, improve social interaction, and assist with pain management. Caregivers have found this program to be helpful in their daily interactions with loved ones, finding them to be more social and receptive to care. Participants are given an iPod with a customized playlist of their favorite music for free. This program can help those living with Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia. (262)658-3508

Dementia Live - A Dementia Awareness Experience: This educational and sensory experience is ideal for caregivers and others who work with people who have Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia. The Dementia Live Experience is a scientifically proven method of training designed to build sensitivity and awareness in individuals caring for those with dementia by combining scholarly resources with a simulation tool kit that enables caregivers to experience for themselves the physical and mental challenges facing those with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. Call us today to learn more or schedule a tour. (262) 658-3508.
