Be a Champion for Kenosha Seniors During March for Meals Week

Kenosha Area Family and Aging Services, Inc. (KAFASI) is calling on the community to step up for local seniors during March for Meals Week, March 23–27, 2026. This national Meals on Wheels campaign raises awareness about senior hunger and isolation while encouraging communities to take action.
Across Kenosha County, the need for Meals on Wheels continues to grow. KAFASI is inviting volunteers, donors, and advocates to become community champions and help ensure older adults receive the nutritious meals and meaningful social connection they deserve.
A Growing Need for Support
Across the United States, more than 13 million seniors struggle with hunger, and thousands are currently waiting for Meals on Wheels services due to rising costs and limited resources. This year’s campaign theme, #CommunityChampionsWeek, highlights the important role communities play in supporting older adults and helping #EndTheWait.
“Hunger and isolation should never be part of aging,” said KAFASI leadership. “Our community has the power to ensure every senior receives the meals and connection they deserve.”

The need is especially clear here in Kenosha County:
25% increase in demand for Meals on Wheels in the past year
91,527 meals served last year
84% of clients live below the poverty line
Community Leaders Join the Effort
Throughout the week, local leaders will join KAFASI to help deliver meals and highlight the importance of supporting older adults in our community. Their participation helps shine a spotlight on the growing need for volunteers and funding to sustain Meals on Wheels services.
