Volunteers provide transportation and companionship to our seniors.

Description

Volunteer Transportation Service is intended to serve seniors and adults with disabilities. Riders must be ambulatory. This service is provided by volunteers from our community who donate their time and use their own vehicle. Service is subject to the availability of volunteer drivers.

This service is for persons that have difficulty using public transportation due to age, frailty, or a disability. Passengers must be ambulatory, and able to enter and exit a vehicle themselves without being required to be lifted by the volunteer driver. The types of trips allowed are: medical appointments, shopping, banking, adult daycare, and other personal business.

Trips less than 5 miles, one-way:

  • $6.00 one-way;

Trips 6 miles or more, one-way:

  • $1.00 per mile

Trip requests can be made by calling (262) 842-7433. Advance notice is required. (3 business days is recommended) Advance notice helps our staff to have the ability to find the appropriate driver.

Benefits

The types of trips allowed are:

  • medical appointments
  • shopping
  • banking or other personal business.

Rides can be local or regional.
