Make Friends and Stay Connected!

Description

Friendly Visitor: Volunteers provide important weekly home and/or telephone visits. These visits support those ages 60 and over. The program is designed to increase socialization and prevent isolation while providing emotional support and encouragement. Some volunteers help with errands, shopping and more.

Virtual Connect: Is a peer led virtual program utilizing the Zoom platform. The purpose of the programs are to connect individuals in a virtual setting for the purpose of socialization, education and information. The hope is that we will be able to expand participant’s social circle while creating a warm welcoming atmosphere.

Tech Assist: Volunteers provide basic Q&A support via telephone, email and virtually. Small group virtual programs are provided monthly and on an as-needed basis. We even have a TABLET LOAN PROGRAM where Seniors are welcome to borrow a tablet. Tech Assist Volunteers provide instructions on how to use the device and complete common tasks such as using the internet, checking email, and using apps. Volunteer tech support is available to assist.

Senior Center Without Walls (SCWOW): An interactive group telephone program. Weekly calls provide participants with socialization. Group telephone activities and special topic programs are designed to provide participants with socialization, armchair travels, and education, all accomplished from the comfort of their own home.

Tuesdays – 2:00 p.m. Varied Topics
Thursdays – 11:00 a.m. Guided Meditation
Fridays – 2:00 p.m. Technology Assistance with Troy or Q&A with Senator Bob Wirch
Sundays – 4:00 pm Sunday with Sally

Feelings of isolation or loneliness can be difficult. We’ve made it convenient for anyone to join in and become part of the group! Connecting with other likeminded people help to ward off loneliness, keep your mind sharp and you will make new friends!

Location

Friendly Visitors will come to you and help you get around or just talk for a while. It can be in person or by phone. Our other services are virtual! So you are a phone call or a click away from making new connections! We provide this service throughout all of Kenosha.

Eligibility Requirements

Any adult, age 60 or older qualifies for these services.

COST

There is no cost for this program.
