Description
The sudden need for durable medical equipment like walkers, commodes, wheelchairs and more, can place both a financial and emotional burden on families. The Medical Equipment Loan Closet has used, donated equipment that can be requested, taken home and used for as long as needed. Available equipment may include:
- Canes
- Crutches
- Commodes
- Incontinence Supplies
- Toilet Risers
- Transfer Bath benches
- Shower chairs
- Walkers
- Wheelchairs
Borrowing equipment is on a first come, first serve basis and based on what is available.
Benefits
Durable medical equipment can be expensive and may not be covered by all insurances. Sometimes, the need for equipment is temporary due to recent surgery or illness. Borrowing gently used equipment can help you have what you need when you need it!

The Medical Equipment Loan Closet is located at the Aging and Disability Resource Center (in the Kenosha County Job Center)

Anyone in need of medical equipment may contact the Resource Center to inquire.
COST
There is no cost for this service. Donations make the loan closet possible. Monetary contributions are requested if borrowers are willing and able. New and gently used medical equipment is also accepted and can be dropped off at the ADRC anytime during regular business hours. We do ask that the equipment be returned to the Medical Loan Closet once it’s no longer needed.
